Keep it Simple, Rush the Best

What exactly are you looking for in your college experience?

If you're anything like me, you want to do more than just go through the motions. You want to excel in the classroom, on the athletic field, and on the social scene. You want to leave this amazing University feeling like you challenged yourself and took advantage of every opportunity that you sought.

Please trust me when I tell you that the best way to accomplish all of these things is to become a Greek at the University of Michigan. Joining a fraternity opens up an entire world of opportunities for an undergraduate man: amazing friends that you will value for life, the most extensive social network on campus, a wealth of academic resources, intense athletic competition, the opportunity to immediately assume leadership roles, and a rich network of successful alumni, just to name a few. But if you're starting to get serious about joining a fraternity, you need to get serious about PIKE.

The Beta Tau (University of Michigan) chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is one of the premiere fraternity chapters in the entire country. Some highlights from the past year include co-hosting the campus's second-largest fundraiser, The Rivalry Run; a first place finish in Greek Week for the third year in a row, countless awards at the national convention including the coveted Smythe Award (awarded to the top 5% of PKA chapters), and most importantly, being named "Outstanding Student Organization" by the University of Michigan. We are an organization made up of the most outstanding men on campus that seek to make the most of our short time here as undergraduates.

A new year is upon us, and Rush is just around the corner. If you are an incoming freshman, a returning student who hasn't already joined a Greek organization, or the kind of person who challenges himself at every opportunity, I strongly encourage you to come and check us out. If you feel that you have what it takes to be a PIKE - a Scholar, a Leader, an Athlete, and a Gentleman, please don't hesitate to contact me or any of the rush chairs. We are looking forward to meeting you.

Keep it Simple, Rush the Best.

Sincerely,

Alex Winkelman,
Director of Recruitment, Beta Tau Chapter: University of Michigan
